In this installment of Companies You’ve Never Heard Of we present the history of Loughman Cartage Company Of South Bend, Indiana. In business since at least 1922, it was owned by Fred J. Loughman. In the early years the business transported freight by boat between Chicago and Michigan City, Indiana and by truck from there to South Bend. Mr. Loughman died in 1928 and John B.
