I am working on future articles on trucking companies that operated in Cleveland, Ohio. Everytime I research a company long gone, I discover more carriers that I had not even heard of before. Most are small companies from the 1930s and 1949s that were acquired into other firms that were eventually bought out by those trucking companies that went under soon after deregulation. I am beginning to specialize in the history during the mid to late 1930’s: a time when the industry was just regulated and many of the companies were still relatively small. I recently found info on the top 100 Class 1 carriers from 1938 to 1953.
Updates to existing articles are always being made as additional historical information becomes available. Some of the updated articles include the history of Branch Motor Express.
