My New Favorite Place

I like to promote things I like and in my area a new place has opened up. I know it’s not trucking related and hopefully my readers won’t mind. If you are in the area stop by and tell them how you heard about them.

  1. Please unsubscribe me. I subscribed in error as I was cleaning out stuff and found something (now I can’t even remember what) that might interest people who collect ephemera related to trucking. I didn’t want to sell it, just make sure it found an appreciative new home.

      1. I think I posted it last month, but I can’t remember what it was that landed me on your site. Found it! It’s a booklet of Christmas Carols titled Carols for Christmas, a marketing piece for Watson Transportation Co of Omaha, Nebraska. E.A. Kelloway was the President. It has the music, words, and color illustrations for each carol. My guess is this would be 1951 vintage as that is a year my family moved. Anyway, I’d be happy to send it to anyone who wants it as an example of mid-20th century transporation/trucking/moving company marketing materials. Are there trucking industry museums? I hate to just throw it away when someone might see it as a piece of history.

      2. FreightWaves had planned a trucking company history museum some years ago and they contacted me for help. Covid hit and the museum never opened. I can use your material for inclusion in a history of Watson.
