When you see an Old Dominion Freight Lines tractor it shows the company being based in Thomasville, North Carolina. Located at the interchange of Business Interstate 85 and Nc Hwy 68, the building originally was home to Bassett Furniture Industries. Like Thomasville Furniture Industries, Bassett left the area and the former furniture manufacturing city lost hundreds of jobs. Several years ago Old Dominion had out grown the offices just a few miles away in High Point and moved into the empty Bassett facility.

Although not a major trucking town by any means, Thomasville does have some history in trucking. Less than a hundred yards north of the Old Dominion offices, a terminal that once housed Johnson Motor Lines still stands and is currently still being used as a trucking terminal for a local carrier.
