I feel it’s important to tell my readers about the research that is done on this site. Let me start by saying “I do not and don’t want you to use AI (artificial intelligence) on any thing posted on this site.”

My sources used are plentiful. I have used the following to write the articles used here:

-Annual reports published by Branch Industries, Inc in relation to the subsidiary known as Branch Motor Express Company

-City directories of various cities that show the residents and where they worked (confined to those working for trucking companies)

-Actual newspaper articles and trucking company advertisements as found online via newspapers.com website

-Route maps published in shipping directories

-Historical bound volumes of Interstate Commerce Commission decisions involving motor carriers and some state Public Utilities Commission decisions

-Other credible sources of information not listed above that I have found to be truthful

As you can determine from the list of sources that I don’t use AI. I’d rather have my readers trust what they read on this site and not wonder if I’m being honest.

There have been instances during the last few years when people in the trucking industry have reached out to me for historical information from finding this site. Trucking museums and publishers have sought help from me and I sincerely appreciate the support and opportunity to be of service. Aside from that, many whose families were instrumental in the development of fallen flags have left comments here when they found this site and read articles about the companies the families started.

This site is nine years old. It was begun as a way for me to record the history of my favorite trucking company, Branch Motor Express. At the time I had no idea that it would have grown like it has. I do this to preserve as much of the history of the industry as possible. This website is for you! I thank all of you for your support and the time you spend reading what I share.
